This section explains which of our services are offered free of charge and which are not. There are two levels of membership:
- Basic membership is totally free
- Premium membership is a paid-for service which gives you access to all our great features
Basic membership benefits
When you first join us you are given free Basic membership. You can use your Basic account for as long as you like. With Basic membership you can:
- Search
- Add your profile
- Change your profile as often as you like
- Add up to 5 photos
- Change your photo as often as you like
- Use "favorites"
- Find out who's got you on their list of favorites
- Reply back to messages that were sent to you from paid members
- Add your guestbook comment
- Send NiceBreakers to other profiles to encourage them to contact you
- Find out who's sent a NiceBreaker to you!
- Using our online help service as much as you need

Premium Membership Benefits
When you upgrade your membership from a Basic to a premium membership, you can do everything guests can, plus you get these great features:

- I've forgotten my account name or password
We can send your account name and password to the email address you used when you joined us. Sorry, we can't send account details to any other email address. To get your account details now, click here.
- I know my email address and password, but I still can't log in.
Remember that email addresses and passwords are case-sensitive, which means you must type them in exactly as they are written in the email we sent you when you joined, using the same combination of upper and lower case letters.
It is possible that you are unable to log in because your account has been suspended or deleted. This happens if you break your promise to us. Unfortunately we are unable to reactivate suspended accounts and cannot enter into any correspondence with you if this should happen. Contact us if you have any further questions.
- I keep getting message about cookies when I log in or it doesn't log me in
You must accept cookies in order to use this site successfully.
Our sites use a cookie to identify you. This cookie is a small piece of information stored by your browser that allows you to remain logged in to your account as you move from page to page. It is set when you log into your Basic or Premium account and expires when you log out. If your cookie has not expired (or been disabled by clicking the "Log Out" link), just log-in again to reset the cookie If you are prompted to accept a cookie after logging in to your account, it is important that you accept. Declining the cookie may cause your log-in session to immediately expire or create other functional problems that would prevent full access to your account. If your browser is configured to reject all cookies automatically, you will not be able to log in to your account. Instead, you will see a page entitled, "An Error Occurred Setting Your User Cookie." To configure your browser to accept cookies, please refer to your browser's help file.
Profiles
- How long does it take for my profile to appear?
Profiles are normally reviewed within hours.
- Do you really read every single profile?
Yes, we really do read every single profile before placing it online. It takes us a tremendous amount of time and effort but we think it's worth it.

How can I change my profile?
Once you've created your profile you can change it as often as you like. To do this:
- log in
- click "my profile"
- make any changes you need to
- click "update"

How do I remove my profile?
There's no need to remove your profile completely, because if you want your profile to disappear from the site for a while, you can "hide" it temporarily. To do this:
- log in
- click "my profile"
- uncheck the "profile is visible to users" box
- click Update
- I've just edited my profile - why has it been taken off the site?
When you edit your profile we must treat it as if it was a brand new entry. Therefore it stays hidden from others until we review it.
Photos
- How long does it take for my photo to appear?
Photos are normally reviewed within hours.
- I don't have a digital photo? Can I send you one in the postal mail?
Yes - details of how to do this are given when you click "edit photo" after you've logged in.
- Some people have their photos on the home page and on the welcome page. Can I get mine there?
Photos are randomly rotated, and all will appear on the home page at different times.
Searching
- How do I find someone I like?
To find potential partners you have to do a search. Click here to start.
Messages
- How do I send a message?
Once you've found someone you like by searching you can send them a message. This service is available to premium members only. Click the "Send Message" link next to their listing. You then see a message box. Fill in the message box and click "send". That's all there is to it.

- I have a message from x. Why can't I find x's profile on the site?
Members do not need to have a profile online to send you a message. If you've received one and cannot find the sender on the site it means they do not currently have a profile.

I got a notification at my email address I have a message waiting.
The email notifies you that you have a message from another member. To reply to a message:
- log in
- click "my messages"
- find the message you want to reply to
- click "reply"
- fill in the box
- click "send"
- I have received an upsetting message - what can I do?
If you receive a message from another member that you consider to be upsetting, or think breaks our terms and conditions, you can report it to us. To do this, please contact us
- Can I block someone from sending me messages?
You can place someone on your ignore list and that will block them from sending you any more messages by logging into your account, clicking on My Messages. Open that persons message and click on their name to bring up their profile. Click on Add to Ignore List and they will be blocked.
General
- Do you think it is safe to meet someone you have only met on the Internet.
In most circumstances it is perfectly safe. But there are some common sense guidelines you'll need to follow to stay safe. Read our Dating Safety Tips
- When is the best time to use the Chat Room?
We recommend 10:00 pm est. There will be on occasion special invited guests who will share their specialized knowledge with you. We will notify you by email in advance of the person and their area of expertise.
- What are favorites?
Favorites are a way of storing a list of people you like so you can easily find their profiles without having to search for them again and again. To add someone to your list of favorites, find their profile and then click "add to favorites".

What are Nicebreakers?
Nicebreakers are a great way to encourage other members to contact you. Shy of making the first move? Send a NiceBreaker.
NIcebreakers: FREE one-time messages that any Guest/Member with a profile can send to another to let him or her know they're interested in what they have conveyed in there ad/profile. Large and Lovely recipients also have the ability to respond with a free one-time reply if they are not a paid Member. Here's how easy it is:
- You already have a profile listed online OR
if your a first time Visitor we request you post a profile
with a photo or two - (you may have up to 5 pictures with
your profile)
- When you see a profile you like, click on the
"Nicebreakers" button
- Choose a message that matches your mood
- Large and Lovely will e-mail a notice informing the recipient
he/she has been sent a NiceBreaker - along with your ad

- Nicebreakers are most successful for ads with photos
- I'm worried about giving you my email address.
There's no need to be. Read our privacy statement.
- I am changing my email address. How can I notify you.
You can change your email address by logging into your account with your old email address and password. Click on My Profile and enter your new email address in the Email Address Field and click update The next time you log into your account, use your new email address and password.
- Do I have to include my email address when I send a message to anybody, or when I reply?
No - this site does not rely on email addresses for you to be able to communicate, which is how it is a more anonymous means of communication than standard email.
- What if I want to close my account?
If you no longer require our services and wish to close your account, please contact us and we will close it for you.
